Making the decision to seek therapy can spark a wide range of emotions; some we understand and others we may not, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Finding the right person that suits you and your needs is not always easy and can come with many challenges and sometimes setbacks. “I hate therapy, it doesn’t seem like it works. The last person I had tried to dictate my life and never listened to how I felt.” “I don’t need a therapist; they can’t help me if they haven’t gone through what I’ve gone through.” Everyone should be given the opportunity to connect and build with a competent and highly trained trustworthy professional who treats others with dignity, respect and compassion. Wilson strives to not only fulfill those needs, but to also determine any person-centered needs or accommodations that may be of just as much importance depending on the individual. She can’t say that she’s weathered the same storms you may have, but if you allow her the opportunity, Wilson can use her skills, training and experience to help you find the best solutions for YOU because it is you who drives the ship. It is her goal to ensure that a safe space is established and that she can provide you with the tools that you need to get the most out of therapy. Wilson encourages you to allow her to guide you in finding your inner strength, to support you with carrying and managing those burdens, to advocate for an improved quality of life and to ultimately help you, help yourself get to where you want to be.
As a Mental Health Professional, she has been in the field for 6 years; working with Children, Adolescents as well as adults in a wide range of settings (school counseling, Wellness support groups for individuals affected by HIV, residential centers for children with Autism, substance support groups and outpatient services). Wilson currently works with a group of professionals here at Life Stance Health, committed to providing exceptional, appropriate, and person-centered services that meets the needs of each individual we encounter. There’s no other place I’d rather be!
