Shannon Toy (she/her) prefers to be called by her middle name, Julianne. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with a range of ages and populations including children, adolescents, adults, and families. She also specializes in working with the LGBTQ+ population.
She graduated with a Master of Education from Concordia University in 2015 and a Masters in Social Work from Simmons University in 2018. Julianne’s counseling approach is strengths based, and client focused. Her goal is to empower clients and families, and to work collaboratively to find solutions that will improve their mental health and overall wellness.
Areas of specialty include; anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, stress management, trauma, adjusting to change, mood disorders. Preferred modalities include; cognitive behavioral therapy, solutions focused therapy, narrative, rational emotive, and mindfulness techniques. Julianne has experience working in school, jail, home-based, office, community, and telehealth settings. Prior to private practice, Julianne worked at a Community Mental Health agency providing therapy and crisis mental health services.
