About Mary Fields, Psy.D.

Dr. Fields is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) and a certified and Licensed Behavior Analyst (BCBA, LBA) in the state of VA. Dr. Fields holds certification as a Parent Child Interaction Therapist and specializes in work with children and families.
Dr. Fields specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of early childhood including developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), communication disorders, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), developmental delay and specific learning disorders.
Dr. Fields received her Bachelor of Psychology and Master of Psychology degrees in her hometown at the University of Saint Francis-Fort Wayne, Indiana before receiving her Doctor of Psychology degree from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology, Argosy University-Twin Cities. Dr. Fields has also received post-baccalaureate certificates from the University of Minnesota in Autism Spectrum Disorder and Applied Behavior Analysis.
Dr. Fields maintains a primary role in evaluation and diagnosis of children 10 years and younger experiencing behavior, developmental and learning difficulties. Dr. Fields enjoys serving the whole family system and emphasizes progress and self-care for each member of the family. Her emphasis on diagnosis allows the child and family to access appropriate and most effective evidence-based interventions in order to improve the overall functioning of the family. Dr. Fields views a diagnosis as a steppingstone that will aid the child and family to reach their full potential.
