Linda Baxter, RN, PhD, PMHNP/CNS-BC, ANP-BC is a nurse practitioner who obtained a master’s degree, adult nurse practitioner certificate and Ph.D. in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also has a specialty certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist from the University of Virginia. She has extensive experience and expertise in the areas of women’s health, stress management and issues related to chronic illness and disability, with particular interest in caregiver issues, including caregiver grief, stress, and self-care. Dr. Baxter is committed to providing respectful and comprehensive care based on each individual’s unique needs and experiences.
Dr. Baxter has had a long and exceptional nursing career, including caring for disadvantaged and marginalized populations and maintaining an adjunct faculty position in the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing. In 2017, she was honored to receive the Outstanding Nurse Service Award from the Virginia Commonwealth University Alumni Association. Dr. Baxter has also been a long-time strong advocate for the disability and mental health community. She was a member of the Chesterfield County Community Services Board for 9 years. In 2019, she was recognized for her advocacy and support with the Chesterfield Community Services Board Service Partnership Award.
For her own mental health, she enjoys creating art through photography, treasure-hunting on the beach, and spending time at the water with family and friends.
