Kimberly Warner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Credentialed Substance Abuse (CSAC) counselor in the state of Virginia and New York. She has 9 years of experience as a clinician and 4 years of Clinical Supervision in the field of mental health and chemical dependency. Kim is credentialed in trauma therapy with use of Eye Movement Desensitization Rationalization (EMDR) for four years and Cognitive Processing Therapy. She also has worked with couples therapy, family therapy, as well as adolescents and children. Kim holds certifications in Equine Assisted Learning and Psychotherapy through the O.K. CORRAL as well as gaining a certification in PATHS International, ESMHL certification. Kim has a passion to give back to the veterans and works and volunteers for several organizations such as T.A.P.S. out of Arlington, Virginia as a Peer Mentor and Care Group Grief/Loss Facilitator, and the NEIGH, Inc. organization for equine therapy. She has experience in running several group therapy sessions such as Anger/Stress Management, Grief/Loss, Trauma, Recovery, and Family/Interventions.
Kim had a PLLC, private practice in the state of New York, to serve others who are dealing with challenges such as PTSD, depression, grief/loss, anxiety, and adjustment issues. Kim is also a Gold Star Wife, and her personal life experiences of being a caregiver of a war veteran, allows her to understand what the veteran and caregiver(s) are dealing with when working through their own trauma and/or secondary trauma, which has given her a better understanding of how to help others.
