About Ashley Foresman, PsyD

Dr. Foresman works with individuals ages 12 and older, having interest in working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, experiencing relational/interpersonal concerns, sexual assault/abuse, cutting, women’s issues, disordered eating, substance use concerns and LGBT concerns. She also enjoys working with couples and has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and utilizes that approach in her work.

Dr. Foresman considers herself to be a generalist and utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy. She pulls from her psychodynamically-oriented training and incorporates elements of interpersonal psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral strategies as well as mindfulness techniques into her work. She works to help individuals gain a better understanding of themselves and what motivates their actions and relationship styles in an effort to work towards positive change. Dr. Foresman has experience working with a diverse client population.

Dr. Foresman graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2008, completed her Master’s Degree in Psychology in 2010 at The George Washington University and finished her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology at The George Washington University in August 2012.

Dr. Foresman works in the Midlothian office and welcomes new patients.
