Amber N. Tate, MS, PMHNP-BC
Amber is a nurse practitioner who obtained a Bachelor of Nursing degree and a Master of Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Amber tested for and obtained a psychiatric nursing certification. She works in the Midlothian office and will provide treatment for both children and adults.
Amber worked at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children for 3 years prior to coming to CCA. During this time she developed skills in collaborative problem solving and trauma informed care while working with a wide range of mental illnesses. In addition, she worked in the Pediatric Emergency Room at Virginia Commonwealth University for 2 years, where she educated staff on mental illnesses and advocated for psychiatric patients during their time in the ER. Amber has a primary interest in treating ADHD, anxiety and mood disorders.
As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, Amber believes prescribing is just one component of a successful treatment plan and will actively encourage therapy and self-care practices.
Amber’s interests include traveling, running with her dog, various water sports, baking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
