Stephanie Dawkins, LCSW
Stephanie Dawkins is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with children and adolescents, and has experience working with young adults. Stephanie graduated with a Bachelor of Social Works from James Madison University in 2014. She then earned her Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015.
Areas of interest include ADHD/ADD, anger management, mood disorders, anxiety, stress management, trauma, behavioral issues, and adjustment disorders. She has experience with treatment modalities that include individual therapy, cognitive behavioral strategies, behavior modification, and expressive interventions.
Stephanie strongly believes in the value of establishing strong rapport and trust with her clients to help build-on their strengths and work towards goals in a solution-focused, pragmatic manner. She approaches clients with unconditional positive regard, and takes into consideration each client’s upbringing, experiences, behaviors, and presenting stressors/challenges in determining treatment strategies. Stephanie values care coordination with other practitioners/service providers to help ensure maximum support and efficacy in treatment.
Stephanie has experience working in school and community settings. Additional internship experiences include working with adults in a state psychiatric facility, as well as with a non-profit agency working with foster children/families.
