Kaitlin Bountress, Ph.D.
Dr. Bountress joined the Midlothian Commonwealth Counseling office in 2018, following a recent move to Richmond. She is a licensed psychologist, and received her PhD from Arizona State University in 2015. She completed her clinical internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Medical University of South Carolina, where she gained specialty training in empirically-validated treatments for victims of trauma across the lifespan (young children through older adults), providing outpatient, inpatient, in-home, and in-school therapeutic services for those experiencing trauma-related symptoms.
Dr. Bountress has particular expertise in working with individuals showing symptoms of PTSD, depression, and/or substance misuse following trauma. Dr. Bountress also has experience working with children and families needing help with non-trauma difficulties, including behavioral problems, anxiety, depression, and impulsivity-related issues (e.g., ADHD).
