Jane Kudlas, Ph.D. Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Virginia and a Member of the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Kudlas has over 15 years of experience working as a mental health provider in inpatient, school-based, and outpatient settings. She completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1992, following a clinical internship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to pursuing her current position as an outpatient psychotherapist with Commonwealth Counseling Associates, she was employed as an Assistant Professor through Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Psychiatry where she was responsible for: providing intensive therapeutic services to youth at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC), a psychiatric hospital for children; affording individual and family therapy to children and adults in outpatient clinics, and completing comprehensive psychological evaluations. Dr. Kudlas was also an integral part of the psychology internship program at VTCC where she taught and supervised individuals pursuing careers as Licensed Clinical Psychologists.
Based out of the Midlothian office, Dr. Kudlas provides individual and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, and psychological evaluations for children ages six to seventeen. She has extensive experience working with youth and adults who present with complicated emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal difficulties, and those reporting a history of loss and trauma including sexual abuse, physical abuse, childhood neglect, life-threatening events, and death of loved-one. Her expertise in providing therapeutic services extends to individuals reporting significant difficulties at home, school, and work due to feelings of anxiety, inadequacy, guilt, and depression.
